Irene C. Briggs joined the Baby and Me Board of Directors in June 2007. As Secretary of the Board, she comes with a background in city government and Higher Education experience totaling 25+ years. Prior experience as a community college Professor, preschool Administrator, and financial aid administrator at two educational institutions drives her to pursue a life as a community servant. Her educational pursuit is leading her towards completing a Doctorate degree in Strategic Leadership at Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA within the next 2 ½ years. Irene is a native San Antonian who transplanted to Houston in 1989. She has attended River of Praise Church in Tomball, Texas since 1990 and is currently employed at Lone Star College-Tomball as Program Outreach Coordinator. She has two sons, Sgt. Phillip A. Briggs, U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Sill, OK, served 14 months in Iraq, and graduated in 1999 from Texas A&M Univeristy in Computer Science Engineering and David F. Briggs, a student at University of Phoenix majoring in Criminal Justice and works for National Oil Well. Irene loves pets, has three cats and lives in Cypress, Texas.
